 Welcome to I Survived Room Parent! 

​

We started out just like you—wide-eyed, eager, and ready to be part of our kids' journeys outside the home. With visions of rainbows, sunshine, and Pinterest-perfect class parties dancing in our heads, we dove headfirst into the role of Room Moms.

​

But oh, how quickly the glitter glue dried up! It didn’t take long for us to realize that volunteering in our kids' schools and extracurriculars was a whole new world—a chaotic land filled with unexpected challenges, surprise snack allergies, and the occasional meltdown (and we don’t just mean the kids!).

​

One particularly challenging day left us questioning our roles as Room Moms. Picture this: a classroom filled with sugar-high children, an overzealous parent arguing about inconsequential issues, and a teacher silently contemplating their career choices. In that moment, we had a choice: let this derail our mission or find the humor in it and keep moving forward—preferably with a snack in hand!

And thus, “I Did It! I Survived Room Parent” was born!

Today, the team behind I Survived Room Parent continues to embrace the delightful chaos of volunteering. We’re on a mission to find new ways to engage with our children and their communities—because we love our kids, and we’re pretty sure they love us (at least until the next embarrassing story surfaces).
